About Singapore Indian Puja Association (SIPA)

Singapore Indian Puja Association (SIPA) – Durga Puja 2024 Announcement Established in August 2022, the Singapore Indian Puja Association (SIPA) began its journey with the inaugural Durga Puja held in October of that year. Born out of the collective passion of individuals who envisioned an authentic Durga Puja experience in Singapore, SIPA has quickly become a beacon of cultural celebration, reflecting the true essence of this beloved festival. Durga Puja is more than just a festival celebrated by Bengalis or non-Bengalis. It is a sentiment, a fervor, and a manifestation of love, faith, and the triumph of good over evil. It is a time for reunion, rejuvenation, and a heartfelt celebration of traditions and customs passed down through generations. While the rituals span 10 days, known as 'Navratri,' it is the concluding five days that primarily mark the 'Durga Puja,' fervently celebrated by Bengalis worldwide. Durga Puja 2024 Celebrations: 9th to 13th October In 2024, we are thrilled to announce that our Durga Puja celebrations will be held from 9th to 13th October. This year, we aim to elevate the experience even further by incorporating a diverse array of cultural programs, community engagements, and spiritual activities. Our goal is to ensure that every attendee feels the warmth, joy, and essence of this grand festival, regardless of background or faith. Our commitment to inclusivity remains steadfast, and we continue to create a Puja environment where everyone feels at home. Additionally, SIPA is proud to take a significant step towards sustainability this year. All food during Durga Puja 2024 will be served on compostable plates and cutlery, ensuring we reduce our environmental footprint. We also encourage attendees to bring their own water bottles and make use of the water dispensers available on-site. Together, we can make this celebration more eco-conscious while enjoying the festival. Saptarang – Our Cultural Showcase For the second year running, we are excited to present our cultural programs under the brand name Saptarang. This vibrant showcase will include a variety of performances such as dancing, singing, playing of musical instruments, and an enthusiastic Antakshari competition. Saptarang offers a platform for community members to express their creativity and talents, making the Puja experience even more colorful and memorable for everyone. Social Initiatives for 2024 SIPA’s commitment to social responsibility continues to grow each year. In 2024, we are excited to announce several new initiatives to give back to the community: Food Collection Drive for the Wishing Well Foundation, supporting families and children in need. Beach Cleanup Drive, fostering environmental stewardship among our members and volunteers. Community Kitchen Support, where volunteers will chop vegetables and assist in meal preparation for underprivileged communities. Durga Puja Festivities at an Old Age Home, where we will donate food to the elderly, spreading the joy and spirit of the festival. These initiatives reflect SIPA’s dedication to not only celebrating our cultural heritage but also serving the broader community and promoting sustainable, meaningful social contributions. As we step into our third year, we acknowledge that while SIPA is still in its early stages, our vision is crystal clear: to continue evolving as a Durga Puja family where people from all walks of life participate with the same enthusiasm and love they’d feel back home. We humbly seek your continued blessings, support, and well-wishes on this journey. Thank you!
